There's just nothing like working with wood, growing up on a farm out by the foothills of the Taurarua ranges in the mighty Manawatu was where a passion of all things wood started off. Whether it was building dams in the creek or huts in the trees. Later this grew to trimming trees for motorcycle tracks in the pine forests. Cutting up the thinnings for firewood to keep the house warm and our neighbors too. I completed my building apprenticeship in Palmerston North and spent a few years as a builder before moving to the Taranaki and calling Hawera home.
